HomeGoods Coming to Portage, MI
The Hinman Company is pleased to announce that HomeGoods, Inc., a home furnishings retailer, is coming to Portage, Michigan as a tenant at the Westnedge@Kilgore shopping center. HomeGoods will be joining Earth Fare and Southern Michigan Bank & Trust as tenants at the shopping center.
Hinman will construct a new, 19,000 square-foot retail store for HomeGoods at 5050 S. Westnedge located immediately adjacent to Earth Fare.
HomeGoods was established in 1992 and operates more than 500 stores throughout the United States. It is owned by TJX Companies, which also owns TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
“HomeGoods is a fantastic retailer and will be a complimentary addition to the shopping center,” said Roger Hinman, CEO of the Hinman Company. “We are pleased that they chose Westnedge@Kilgore for their newest location.”
Construction is expected to start this summer with completion anticipated in the spring of 2018.
Future plans for Westnedge@Kilgore include development of the vacant land to the East and North of Lowe’s Home Improvement. In addition to these future development plans, there is 3,200 square feet of retail space in the shopping center immediately adjacent to Earth Fare that is currently available for lease.

Yes, Roger. We actually have something before Kazoo/Portage. I’m amazed and absolutely love that store. Congratulations on your new venture.

HAPPY DANCE !!!!!!!!!!
It’s unfortunate that that Homegoods couldn’t use an existing empty retail space in Portage, as there are plenty of options…
So happy you have secured this company to build in Kalamazoo. Still missing JoAnn Fabrics or Fields or similarstores on West side of Kalamazoo.
We need a Bonefish Grill in Kalamazoo!
